Do Not Get Duped by the Enemy

Jesus always seemed to put Satan in his rightful place as a liar, deceiver and accuser by fighting back with truth. In order to overcome the enemy and the spiritual booby traps that he sets up throughout your walk with Christ, you are to arm yourselves with truth in God’s Word. A booby trap is a device or setup that is intended to kill, harm or surprise a person or animal. The nature of the enemy is to kill, steal and destroy both you and God’s purposes in your life (see John 10:10). When you align your faith and your words with God’s will, you hinder Satan’s agenda.

We are to win souls for Christ and fulfill our earthly ministry duties as sons of God (see Colossians 4:17). I have come to notice that the enemy is looking for weaklings—faithless, fearful, ignorant and feeble-minded people whom he can devour like prey. He is described in the Bible as a roaring lion or a charging bear (see 1 Peter 5:8; Proverbs 28:15). Even in the natural, you are never to turn your back on a predator. Losing your focus becomes an opportunity for them to pounce on you. You must stand your ground, look the enemy in the eyes and declare God’s Word that you will not be moved (see Psalm 112:6; Proverbs 10:30).

We can stand upon the truth of Psalm 27:2 (NLT), which says, “When evil people come to devour me, when my enemies and foes attack me, they will stumble and fall.”
